10 Things about James

I am going to get in trouble for this one but I can't help myself!

1. He is always singing, humming, tapping- making some sort of noise. (bella grace even dances to his tapping)
2. He wakes up Bella Grace with a big "ta ta ta daaaa" every morning.
3. He has received many speeding tickets and I have not. He says that if a police man ever pulls me over- he will beg them to get me a ticket....
4. He absolutely hates going shoe shopping with me.
5. He loves to ask questions. His favorite is "did you kiss him/her?"
6. Every morning he sits in his chair and reads his Bible.
7. He loves it when I cook him spaghetti. But, it is not as good as his Grandmothers.
8. He absolutely loves going hiking with Bella Grace and I. (and Rebel)
9. His music taste is incredible. He could spend hours on I-tunes finding new music.
10. He is the BEST father and husband two girls could ask for...

10 Things about Bella Grace

I was "tagged" by my friend Carrie to write ten things about Bella Grace. Every time I talk to Momma T, she wants to hear something cute Bella Grace has done so I know she will really enjoy this list! Here we go...

1. She makes friends with everyone at the grocery store, smiling and waving until they say something like "you are so cute."
2. Her dance moves are quite good, I must say so myself. She is learning to move her hips to the music and use her arms at the same time.
3. She loves Chick-fil-A. As soon as we drive up she starts clapping and just gets so excited. Her & Daddy went on a date there last night.
4. Her favorite place in the house is on our bed. She wants all of us on it at the same time. We play fun games like jumping on the bed together and she loves it when Daddy jumps from the floor to the bed in one giant leap! She thinks that is hilarious!
5. Her favorite food is rice. James says she is Japanese.
6. She does not like Mommy to wear her hair in a pony tail. She will make me take it down. It must embarrass her for Mommy not to be put together :)
7. When Daddy puts on his tie in the morning, she says "bye bye, Dada."
8. When our dog Rebel barks, she says "no no!"
9. Her new favorite thing is to ride in the race car shopping carts at the grocery store. They are like a bus so I run into just about everyone and everything. At Target they do not have the race cars so we are now learning to throw a major fit while getting into the regular cart because she wants the race car. Hmmm... Target, please get race cars!
10. As we pray with her every night, she says a big, hearty A-Yen at the end.

These are just a few of my favorite things...

Momma T's Report

We received the call today that it is a Grade III tumor. She will start treatment at the beginning of Feb. We are very thankful that it is not a Grade IV... Please continue to go on the Caring Bridge site for further updates on her progress and healing. Thank you for praying!

Read This- today!

Momma T gave me this book a few days ago and I read it in under 2 days! I could not put it down... I am a tough critic when it comes to true stories in writing but this one is worth reading! It is such a beautiful story of life- simple yet so complex. Just read it! And- thank you, Momma T, for the book that touched my soul.

He is Good!

Many of you are checking the Caring Bridge site, but I had a chance to update this as well. The surgery was successful and only last an hour and a half. As we were waiting in the hall, she was wheeled through and was alert. Of course, we all started clapping and cheering- and she was waving like a star that she is....
The doctor met with us and told us that he believes the tumor is a Grade 2 or a Grade 3. We are praying hard for a Grade 2- that would be our miracle! If it is a Grade 3, then she will go through some treatments for the cancer. A Grade 2 would mean that it is benign! The tumor was larger than we thought- about the size of a tennis ball.
We are about to go into her room in the ICU to celebrate her successful surgery! I truly believe that God placed His hand on her and protected her in so many ways. Please continue to pray for the pathology report that we will receive on either Monday or Tuesday- that it will be a Grade 2!
Thank you so much for your care and support through this time. We love you all...

Update on Momma T

The surgery is now set for a week from today, Thur-Jan 10, Duke Medical Center. We will keep everyone updated through the Caring Bridge site as we are able to get access to the internet. Please pass this along to anyone who will pray for her and the family on this day. Your prayers are what we need right now!

What is Hope?

As I was lying down, trying to take my Sunday afternoon nap- my mind would not stop thinking about the word Hope. It is a word that we use often in the English language but yet do we really know what it means? So, here is my attempt to answer my own question. We all have our hope in something or someone. We know it has something to do with faith because in Hebrews 11:1- it says that "faith is being sure of what we HOPE for and certain of what we do not see." Here we come to understand that hope is something that we do not see. Romans 8:24-25 confirms this saying, "hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But, if we hope for what we do not have, we wait for it patiently." Not only do we not see physically what we hope for, but we also wait for it with patience. Now patient is not my favorite word, nor is it my favorite thing to do in life. But, the Word tells us that we must wait for what we place our hope in with patience. I am trying to start teaching Bella Grace the meaning of patience (though she really has no clue what I am saying)- and I came up with my own definition for her (maybe more for me?). I always tell her- "have patience, sweet girl, and that means to wait with a good attitude." We can all wait because waiting usually means we do not have a choice in the matter. Traffic- no choice. Test results- no choice. Baby- no choice. Heaven- no choice. How we go about waiting makes all the difference... with a good attitude! James & I have been clinging to Romans 8:18-19- "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in EAGER EXPECTATION for the sons of God to be revealed." To me, that is the definition of hope- to "wait in eager expectation." Thank goodness patience does not mean just sitting around waiting for something to happen. Hope is active! It is alive! Where does your hope lie? What do you hope in that you cannot see? A job? A spouse? A cure? A baby? If your hope does not lie in Christ, then there is no hope at all. For all of these things will pass away, yet Christ will remain. He is our hope. He is the answer to all of our hopefulness.
My hope today is that Momma T will be well. Yet, I cannot have that hope without turning my eyes towards Jesus.
Singing this song in church this morning brings it all to light:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.

Hope on...

Just talked with Momma T and the doctor believes the tumor could be less severe than previously thought. The surgery will occur in the next few weeks so just keep praying! Thanks so much for all your calls and emails. Her Caring Bridge site will also keep you updated.
I hold on to His promise:
"Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail! They are NEW every morning; GREAT is your faithfulness!" Lamentations 3:22-23

Hope

Dear Family & Friends,

For those of you who do not yet know, my favorite mother-in-law, James' favorite Mom, & Bella Grace's favorite Mimi- has been diagnosed with a brain tumor called Glioblastoma Multiforme. It came as a shock to us all- for she had no symptoms. But, let me tell you- this Glio guy does not know who he is up against! Mrs. Pam Trone is a fighter! If you know her, then there is no doubt that you know she will keep on going. Over Christmas our family played a fun game where you matched a family members name with the best possible choice from a list. It was Momma T's turn- and the question was: "If Momma T were a weapon, what would she be?" The list was something like: machete, pistol, cannon ball, or charm. Of course, every one of us said her weapon would be charm. Though she has the will to fight, she will certainly do it with her southern charm. There is no other way for Pam Trone.
We ask for your prayers- for we know nothing is impossible for God!
She has set up a website on Caring Bridge that will allow you to keep up with the latest news and information as we begin on this journey. Join with me and encourage and love on her & Tim (aka G-Daddy) through this site.

To God be the Glory Forever,
Misty & James
